Urolithin A Urolithin A powder is a metabolic compound produced by gut bacteria converting ellagitannin, an inducer of mitophagy. Urolithin A switches mitochondria from CI-driven respiration to CII-driven respiration, extending lifespan and improving muscle function. It belongs to a class of organic compounds known as benzocoumarins or dibenzo-alpha-pyrone. Its precursors -- ellagic acid and ellagitannins -- are ubiquitous in nature, including edible plants like pomegranates, strawberries, raspberries, and walnuts.
